As anglers across the nation prepare to give thanks for the many blessings of American life, Lindy pro staffer Jon Thelen is counting the days until his first filming trip to gather footage for Fish Ed, Lindy Fishing Tackle’s popular weekly television show on Fox Sports North.

A veteran guide on A-list fish factories including Mille Lacs and Lake of the Woods, Thelen enjoys traversing the Midwest, tracking down the region’s best bites and bringing viewers the latest guide-tested tips, tricks and tactics.

“We’re kicking off our hardwater season on North Dakota’s Devils Lake, and I’m really excited to get up there,” he says. “Fish populations are in great shape, the bays froze early, and the main lake even has a sheet over its head.”

From serious field-testing with Lindy’s new Perch Talker last season, Thelen is sure the unique jigging lure, which sports colored brass beads and discs, will be a factor on his first trip—and throughout the winter. “The Perch Talker clicks, rattles and flashes to call in perch, walleyes and other gamefish,” he says. “It’s definitely going to get plenty of playing time.”

While Thelen is working on Fish Ed’s 2015-‘16 season, he notes that this weekend’s show, which airs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, offers an in-depth look at the Perch Talker in action. “Tune in if you want to see it absolutely crush jumbo perch,” he grins.

Thelen also points out that special online versions of Fish Ed are posted on Lindyfishingtackle.com and YouTube within days of filming. “Fish Ed Online offers up-to-date information on current fish locations and hot patterns across the Midwest,” he says. “So highlights of our Devils Lake trip will be posted shortly after we get back home.”

Packed with timely tips, both the broadcast and online versions of Fish Ed are a great way to keep up with the latest trends and make this your best winter yet.
